Terms and Conditions

Terms & Conditions of Auction
Introduction. The following notes are intended to assist bidders and buyers, particularly those that are inexperienced or new to an Auction
How do I bid?You can either bid in person at the Royal Oak on the day of the Auction or by leaving a commissioned bid.
Bidding at the Royal OakOn the day, the auctioneer will commence the bidding.  If you would like to bid then you need to raise your hand to ensure the auctioneer has seen you.  If you are successful, then you will be asked your name and will be announced by the auctioneer as the winning buyer.
Commissioned bidsIf you are unable to attend the Auction you may leave a commissioned bid/s with us indicating the maximum amount to be bid against a lot. We will execute commissioned bids as cheaply as possible having regard to the reserve (if any) and competing bids. If two buyers submit identical commission bids we may prefer the first bid received (where this can be reasonably ascertained). The bidding does not start at the price you indicate unless yours is the lowest bid.
You should use this page or message our Facebook or Instagram to submit your bid.
PaymentIf your bid is successful, the Royal Oak will call you to take payment which can be made over the telephone by debit card.  You will be expected to make payment prior to collection. Goods will only be released upon receipt of cleared funds.  Please note, we do not accept cash payments.
ReserveThis is the minimum price that a lot is expected to realise.
Collection & transportationThe responsibility for the collection of purchases rests with the buyer.  Items that can be sent by email will be forwarded to you.
Hammer priceThis is the price that the lot is sold for at auction.
